The retiarius named VIR (his real name is unknow) was found by a family in Numidia, lost and hungry, with a dead little lion in his mouth. He has killed the little lion e was eating it! He was not a nubian... In fact, he has light blond hair and blue-green eyes. People think he was a last survivor of a germanic family killed by the africans in a rebelion.
Because he was very, very strong, and because he doesn't know fear (he has killed a lion), he was used in the games, as a gladiator. Very scars cover his body, his arms, his chests and his face.
He is loved by women and have had uncontables ladies in his bed!

The thraex named Ingvar was captured in the northern sea. In fact, he was the last survivors of a germanic pirate boat defeated by Roman Navy! Very strong and handsome, Ingvar was used as home slave by many years. But, ina ocasion, his owner was attacked by theeves and he, only with his hands, killed 7 bad men. He broke the neck of one of them, hanging one that person only with a hand.

Since being plucked from a shipwreck off the coast of Paros and being trained in the Ludus Magnus school, we have discovered that he had been a quarry worker assisting with exportation of the island's coveted marble, hence his excellent physical constitution and stamina.

He carries a trident with an ornate bronze shaft and gilded tines, reportedly personally forged by Volcanus for one of Neptune's minions. His defends his left arm with the strongest lorica manica and matching shoulder piece. He is decendant from the tribes of the Jebel Barkal mountain region, where he first learned his mastery of the use of the net on the banks of the Nile River near Napata. He was trained under the guidance and wisdom of his lanista, Spurius Mercurius Pilatus, a recent veteran and former Optio of Legio IV Macedonia, at the Vitellian Gladiatorial School of his Dominus' uncle in Saguntum, Provincia Hispania Tarraconensis. His preferred tactics are defensive.

He is a Hoplomachus. Recently wounded in the leg during the Munera Gladiatoria Quarters of the Ludi Victoriae, Ansgar has been training and the Medicus from the Vitellian Gladiatorial School in Saguntum has approved the entry into the games, due to full recovery. Staying in Roma since the last Ludi instead of returning to Saguntum for a very brief stay, he has made his way to the arena daily to prepare for the fights in the upcoming days. His carries a lance and a silver parazonium. In his defense he wears a closed crest hull, circular small bronze shield and bronze shin pads. He wears a manica on his right arm and also wears a bronze pectoral plate with Medusa's emblem on the front. According to his Lanista, Spurius Mercurius Pilatus, he has vastly improved his performance in the arena, despite being injured, and should provide a good return on one's wagers...at least enough to pay for the Falernian!

He is a Secutor and a seasoned veteran of the arena. His weapon is a highly-polished pompeii-style gladius. His defenses are a closed smooth hull, rectangular and rather large woad-blue scutum with armored protection on the right arm and legs. He is decendant from the tribes of the Caldoneans, and thus has a fierce demeanor and commanding bearing. Superstes is an experienced fighter in the arena and previous winner of the Munera Gladiatoria of the Ludi Megalesia 2758. Trained at the Vitellian Gladiatorial School in Saguntum, Superstes has proven to be a successful contender. He never fails to visit the lararium in the arena to make offerings to Iuppiter and Mars, the patron gods of the Vitellians. His preferred tactics are defensive.
